Christchurch
Christchurch is an interesting city. It is still being rebuilt after the earthquake in 2011 and still has no port for ships to dock in. So we had to disembark the ship an hour and a half’s drive away and only had a few hours there.

This is a memorial to the 185 people who died in the earthquake - quite moving - 185 white chairs one for each person who died.

Strange sculptures everywhere!

Finished off with a visit to the botanical gardens. Our guide insisted on an arty picture in the meadow garden!

Now on our way to Wellington and hoping for warmer weather!
It is a real mixture of old and new and renovation work is everywhere. This is the cathedral and the temporary cardboard! cathedral that has been rebuilt since.
